This project is an exploration of information ethics dilemmas surrounding the archiving of cultural heritage materials from non-Western cultures, via an interactive group scenario. This might sound boring—until you consider that you can play the role of a totally sneaky cultural anthropologist! Though it was originally created in paper form for my Information Ethics class, I retooled the project as a narrative game for a more dynamic playthrough.

This scenario is meant to be played by a group of three people and is designed to facilitate in-depth discussion of ethical decisions—as well as the justifications for these decisions—before players make them. Each player assumes one role in the scenario and together they explore the difficulties inherent in creating archives for cultures whose values may differ dramatically from their own.
