The David Shapiro Collection contains the clippings, research, and personal papers of David Shapiro, an Austin lawyer and political activist. The collection documents the political climate of 1960s Texas, an important transition period for the Republican and Democratic parties. I processed these papers for the Briscoe Center for American History and turned several chaotic boxes of scattered news clippings into a neatly processed, organized collection. I also created a DACS-compliant, EAD-encoded finding aid, available at Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO).
