Created for the Briscoe Center for American History, this finding aid documents the Melanie Wiggins Collection, which documents the research and writing process of Texas author Melanie Wiggins. The collection contains research papers, newspaper clippings, manuscript drafts, correspondence, photos, interview audio recordings and transcriptions, posters, videotapes of television productions, and maps related to two of Wiggins’ books, They Made Their Own Law: Stories of the Bolivar Peninsula, published in 1990, and Torpedoes in the Gulf: Galveston and the U-Boats, 1942-1943.
I independently created a processing plan, processed and rehoused the collection, and created a DACS-compliant, EAD-encoded finding aid, available at Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO).
